I've been playing guitar since 8 yrs. old. I've owned over 40 guitars in my 70 years. I've owned about 10 Martin Guitars including an LSVA Tony Rice model. I currently own a Gallagher G-70 guitar which I've owned about 27 years. About 17 years ago I ask my nephew about building me a guitar and he said he'd love to build me one. Being his first Dreadnought guitar and only his 4th guitar build ever,  I really wasn't expecting nothing special. I told him I would like for it to at least keep up with some of the Martin guitars around. Boy did he shock me ! To start with it was a Christmas gift. Not only does keep up with the Martin D-28s it surpasses in tone, loudness and very much in playability. It's been played by some of the best Bluegrass guitar players in the business and they all say the same thing " Martin Killer ". After playing Rock en Roll most my life I expect an acoustic guitar to play like my old Gibson custom. Well,, it does. Then on top all that Donnie used the best material one could ask for. Adirondack Spruce Top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Mahogany Neck, Forward X style scalloped bracing. to make it pretty he used, Mother of pearl accents on the headstock, fretboard and rosette. Herringbone purfling and rosette, Macassar Ebony fretboard and bridge. Then just for kicks he added Gotoh tuners 510 with a gear ration of 18:1 I guess because when you get old your hearing isn't what it once was. And just in case you have a hard time hearing he put me a LR Baggs active I-beam pickup. 

Donnie, you knocked this one out of the park ! If anyone is looking for a classy top notch guitar of any style, you'll be way ahead of the game to give him a call.
